Guang Ming Temple

The temple provides multicultural education, serves as a center for social functions and festival activities, and most importantly, through this, the Buddha’s teachings can be made available to benefit society through community outreach programs, and enhance the spiritual growth of Buddhist devotees through their everyday actions and pilgrimages.

Guang Ming Temple, a branch of Fo Guang Shan, which is Chinese for Buddha’s Light Mountain, which is located at 6555 Hoffner Road in Orlando, Florida.

Fo Guang Shan Buddhist order, headquartered in Taiwan, was established in 1967 by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. Fo Guang Shan has evolved from a small monastery atop a mountain of bamboo forest to become the largest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan.

Under Venerable Master’s leadership Fo Guang Shanh flourished and now includes over 200 temples worldwide as well as colleges, hospitals and other social serving organizations. He has inspired the selfless devotion of over 1.000 ordained disciples as well as gained the ardent support of many lay devotees to assist him in bringing faith, happiness, hope and convenience to others. Serving others through the objectives of Fo Guang Shan is the hallmark of Humanistic Buddhism.
